Every year Franklin, TN holds a fall festival. They close the main street and town square to traffic and fill it with music, dancing, food, booths, and an excellent chili cook off that attracts crowds of people.
The People's Church in Franklin takes full advantage of the opportunity. They take over an adjacent street and fill it with games for kids. They have cake walks, bean bag tosses, pony rides and more.
This is a great example of touching it with the match (giving people an experience with your product or service). Rather than direct mail or newspaper ads asking people to attend the church, they took the church to the people and gave the community a first hand experience.
Spread the fire. GS
