According to a study by eMarketer, more Internet users (95% of women and 92% of men) cite word-of-mouth as an influence on their decision to purchase than any other form of marketing.
Once again WOM is #1.
This isn't surprising to me and it's probably not a shock to you either, but it does make me wonder; If word-of-mouth is the greatest influence on people's purchase decisions, why isn't it the largest portion of every marketing plan?
How much more efficient and effective would your marketing be if you exhausted every possible word-of-mouth idea before considering less influential tactics? Spread the fire. GS
